MAAP is looking to add an experienced Art Director to our fast-growing creative team. Come work for a design-first brand in an amazing space designed by architect Claire Cousins in Port Melbourne.


As a valued member of the team you will be responsible for working alongside our Design Director, CCO and creatives to execute on-brand solutions for all visual communication for the brand. You will lead the daily tasks and management of our team of designers working across creative deliverables for social, digital, eCommerce, retail, packaging, brand/product campaigns, event IDs, and go-to-market rollouts.


Key Responsibilities

- Work with the Design Director and creative team to develop design solutions that meet company objectives
- Work with the Design Director and creative team to effectively execute the brand vision for all global visual communication
- Train, mentor and direct art department staff members daily
- Manage the Art Department staff on daily tasks trafficking jobs through Basecamp ensuring all work is delivered flawlessly and on time and is consistent with the vision of the CCO and Design Director
- Creatively execute a solid strategy with the marketing and creative teams for EDMs, social media, and all digital marketing to push DTC sales through our website as well as assets to support our retailers as needed
- Align assets for posting to social media
- Coordinate and brief freelance artists, photographers, and filmers as needed
- Assist in planning photoshoots with the Design Director and Marketing team
- Manage own initiatives and projects, work within budget and scheduling requirements
- Work across product, sales and marketing as a valued creative asset
- Remain current on industry trends and technology
- Stay in tune with local and international art and design scene


Important Qualities

Communication skills - You must be able to listen to and speak with regional and global management to ensure that you understand the company’s ideas and desires from a creative perspective
Leadership skills - Must be able to organise, direct, and motivate other artists/staff and articulate the company’s vision to artists and oversee production
Time-management skills - Balancing competing priorities and multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines is critical
Fine art - Not a must-have but a plus to have experience with photography, painting, illustration, etc. Must have an understanding/appreciation for all


Nice To Have

- Experience with Adobe AfterEffects and/or Premiere Pro, motion, and animation
